FlowBoard FAQ

What happens when the trial ends?

The trial lasts 14 days from the first launch. After that, you can continue editing for another 16 days, with occasional license reminders.

After 30 days, FlowBoard switches to read-only mode. You can still open, read, copy and export your work. Entering a license restores editing.

How do I activate my purchase?

Your license key is emailed to you after the purchase. Enter the email address you used at checkout and the license key in FlowBoard.

Do I need an internet connection?

Only for activation and when you install a new minor version. Once verified, that version and its patch updates work offline.

Features that use online services naturally still need a connection.

Does my purchase include future upgrades?

Updates to your version are included. Future major versions may be paid upgrades.

Can I open my writing in another editor?

Yes. Your writing is stored as Markdown files.

Story Map layouts and some FlowBoard settings are stored separately.

Do I have to use AI?

No. AI features are entirely optional.

If you use AI Assist, the prompt and context you provide are sent to the AI provider you’ve configured. Any charges from that provider are separate from FlowBoard.

What data leaves my computer?

Your documents stay on your computer unless you choose to use a service that sends them elsewhere.

Activation exchanges the information needed to verify your license. Paddle handles the information needed for purchases and payments. Optional online features connect to their respective services.

See the Privacy policy for the details.

How do I request a refund?

For purchases made through this website, use the help link in your Paddle receipt or contact Paddle Buyer Support.

See Refunds & withdrawal for the policy and information about your statutory rights.
