Clean Up Unused Media

Dieser Inhalt ist noch nicht in deiner Sprache verfügbar.

Images, PDFs and audio files stay in the document’s assets folder after you remove them from every card. Clean unused media finds those files and deletes them to free space.

  1. Open Settings (Cmd+,) and select Assets. The section is there for a saved document.
  2. Under Clean unused media, select Clean active board to check the current board’s folder, or Clean all boards to check the folders of every board in the document.
  3. If FlowBoard finds unused files, Delete Unused Media? lists each one with its size. Check the list.
  4. Select Delete.

Deleted files are gone for good. They don’t go to the Trash, and Cmd+Z can’t bring them back.

A file stays if anything in the document still refers to it, on any board, whichever board you clean:

  • the text of a card, such as an embedded image;
  • a tag, such as a Play background or a music file;
  • a card you deleted that Cmd+Z can still bring back;
  • other files in the document’s folder that belong to it: its story translations and sessions, and any other document that uses the same assets folder.

When in doubt, FlowBoard keeps a file. A file whose name appears anywhere in this text stays, even if the card only mentions it. Folders of the assets folder that don’t belong to a board in the document are never cleaned.

  • Nothing was deleted: a listed file is in use again. Scan again. Something started to refer to a listed file after the list was made, for example a card you pasted. FlowBoard checks again right before deleting and then deletes nothing. Run the cleanup again.
  • Could not scan unused media files. FlowBoard couldn’t read a file it needs to decide, for example a translation that isn’t downloaded from iCloud yet, or a board folder links to a place outside the assets folder. Nothing is listed or deleted. Make the file available, then try again.
